The new Maemo phone turned the most heads this year - according to you
STUTTGART, Germany – Last week’s Nokia World show brought with it a heap of new products, intriguing solutions and a deluge of fascinating comments and debate. Since NW09 we’ve received over 680 comments and trackbacks on stories we’ve run right here on Conversations. An overwhelming amount – we’re so pleased to be one of the homes to all your interesting and insightful opinions. So please keep them coming (which reminds me, we need to announce the comment of the week winner – as you can imagine, no easy task what with the mountain of comments last week, hence the delay folks).
Following all the exciting announcements last week and in the run up to Nokia World 09 we asked you to vote for your favourite product, and received a record number of votes – 2,670 of them. So continue reading to find out which new Nokia device got you voting in your droves.
Stealing the spotlight with the lion’s share of the vote is the Nokia N900. Nokia’s debut Linux-based Maemo 5 device earned 1,804 votes, giving it a staggering 68%.
In second place, with 15% of the vote, is the Nokia Booklet 3G. The mini laptop PC stunned many when it was first unveiled, and it’s full specs list has triggered a wealth of interest, excitement and controversy. It earned my vote, but couldn’t compete with the popularity sparked by its smaller N900 sibling.
Third on the podium, and close behind the Booklet, is the new Nokia X6 entertainment phone with 11% of the vote. The flagship X series device (the first device to replace the XpressMusic range), the new X6 was a keenly discussed favourite on the show floor at Nokia World 09.
