Nokia unveils the most affordable and first dual-sim Nokia Lumia 630, the fast and affordable 4G Nokia Lumia 635, and the flagship Nokia Lumia 930. All powered by the new Windows Phone 8.1, which is coming to every Windows Phone 8-powered Nokia Lumia smartphone.

Speaking at Microsoft’s Build Developer Conference 2014, Stephen Elop today announced three stunning new Lumia smartphones with Windows Phone 8.1, boasting a wealth of exclusive Nokia features, and the exciting new Lumia 2014 colour palette of bright orange, bright green, bright yellow, and black and white.

Integrating the best of Microsoft and Lumia, the beautifully crafted flagship Nokia Lumia 930 has a 20MP PureView camera with ZEISS optics and optical image stabilization. Nokia Rich Recording delivers a flawless video experience, while Nokia’s new Living Images brings even more emotion to your stunning static photos.

A powerful 2.2GHz Snapdragon quad-core processor and 2GB of RAM beat at the heart of the Lumia 930, delivering superb performance from powerful Microsoft services like OneDrive and MS Office, as well as cutting-edge apps and games.

The Lumia 930 also comes with unparalleled HD video dexterity, with four high-performance microphones that enhance the clarity of your subjects and block out unwanted noise.

Integrated Dolby Surround Sound also makes for a similarly rich audio experience when watching movies or listening to music.

The Lumia 930’s stunning design combines an elegant aluminium and vibrant polycarbonate shell that come in a range of radiant colours.

The five-inch, 1080p Full HD, ClearBlack screen display (1920×1080; 441ppi) provides an all-round pin-sharp and detailed viewing experience.

The Lumia 930 is LTE-ready and will keep going all day (and longer) thanks to the 2420 mAh battery. Built-in wireless charging simply adds to the convenience.

Rolling out globally in June – beginning in Europe, Asia, India and Middle East – the Nokia Lumia 930 will be available from $599 before taxes and subsidies.

The Nokia Lumia 630 and Lumia 635 set new standards for affordable smartphones with quad core processing and uncompromised experiences from Microsoft and Nokia. The Lumia 630 comes in two options, the first is the most affordable Lumia to date with 3G single-SIM and there’s also the first dual SIM Lumia. The speedy Lumia 635 is the best value 4G/LTE Lumia to date.

The Lumia 630 and Lumia 635 sport a vivacious design with changeable covers. The Lumia 635 distinguishes itself by a high-gloss finish and a unique dual-layered, glowing surround. Whilst, both single and dual-SIM Lumia 630 come with a new matt finish and a dazzling choice of colours including bright orange, bright green and bright yellow.

The quad-core Snapdragon processor provides a faster social experience with Word Flow and social apps, such as WhatsApp and WeChat.

The 4.5-inch ClearBlack screen makes games, apps and entertainment, such as Asphalt 8 and Vimeo, look great, while both Lumia 630 and Lumia 635 benefit from high-end Lumia apps such as Nokia Camera, maps and navigation from HERE, plus free Nokia MixRadio streaming.

The Nokia Lumia 630 and Lumia 635 introduce the innovative new ‘SensorCore’, which provides low-power motion sensing with Bing Health and Fitness to help people track their lives – a new SensorCore SDK is also being piloted with select partners ahead of a public release.

The Nokia Lumia 630 is expected to rollout in May, beginning with Asia, Russia, China, India and Europe, from $159 for the single-sim variant, and $169 for the dual-sim variant before subsidies and taxes.

The Nokia Lumia 635 will be broadly available, including in the US starting in this summer from $189 before subsidies and taxes.

Windows Phone 8.1 update

As well as the hardware announcements, Nokia has also confirmed that that Windows Phone 8.1 will be available for all Lumia Windows 8 smartphones as an over-the-air update starting this summer.

This includes the Lumia 1520, Lumia 1020 and Lumia 520.

Windows Phone 8.1 introduces a wealth of new features, including more at-a-glance content with LiveTiles, faster ways to connect and type with the Word Flow keyboard, one easy swipe to important notifications with Action Center and (starting in the US) a personal and pro-active voice assistant called Cortana.

In addition, the Windows Phone 8.1 enterprise pack means existing Lumia Windows Phone 8 devices will become better business phones.

And there’s even more!

  • The entire Lumia range with Windows Phone 8 will get an over-the-air update called Lumia Cyan, which will combine Windows Phone 8.1 and brand-new Lumia features into one update package. This includes enhancements to the camera roll and Creative Studio, as well as a new and improved Nokia Storyteller app, for sharing stories as a video slideshow on social networks.
  • The imaging SDK 1.2 BETA is a new Nokia Lumia SDK that will enable developers to build the next generation of imaging and social apps. Available starting today at developer.nokia.com, the new Imaging SDK features a combination of leading image manipulation capabilities and filter effects.
